Helter Skelter

Looking to create one vision?

Wanting to show the true value of partnership?

Want to see how combined planning and project management can create a huge result?

Interested in getting everyone focusing on customer?

These and much more can be achieved with Helter Skelter.

A quick overview

Teams work in different geographical spaces in the conference location

Each team has to meet a customer’s requirement and at the same time meet global business demands exacted upon it.

The activity involves the team creating an innovative transport system to move a customers product (a giant ball) all of the way around the room without touching anyone it.

Teams work with bamboo, wood, rope and string to create their individual creations that must all link together to create one fluid path

Helter Skelter Scenario

Teams work as different departments of the organisation and each has a set of working guidelines. Specifications for each team include the entry and exit height of the customer’s product and several other specifications.

Teams must form a central planning committee to carry out the project. Team design and develop their strategy and then must purchase materials from a central location.

Once materials are purchased construction starts, with each team ensuring that they meet criteria and that they can connect to the teams close to them.

Once everyone is ready the customer’s products (the giant balls) are passed through the system to see if the teams have truly worked together to create one fluid supply chain.

Some of the learning areas that the activity develops include:

  • Vision and mission

  • Planning and decision making

  • Project management

  • Time management

  • Communication

  • Co-ordination

Some of the key features and benefits of the activity:

  • Can be run in one to five hours and reviewing that lasts an hour or more.

  • Group size from 12 to 1200.

  • Can be played any where, any time, and any weather.

  • Allows for powerful debriefings and interactive discussions focused on the key business issues of today.

Andi Roberts can deliver Helter Skelter in English or Spanish, in Spain or any global location.
