These pictures are of an event held on behalf of GTI UK Ltd for an annual sales conference in April 2006.
The challenge course is based in El Puerto de Santa Maria, Spain some 15 minutes from Jerez (XRY) airport. The activities were built by Andi Roberts and are available for use for training courses and events
The Pole Participants choose a goal or vision and with the support of the rest of the team attempt to reach that goal. Each person is attached to two safety ropes for a double safety system.
The Lift A large heavy weight, 70kilos, has a string for each person attached to it. When everyone works together some 35 people can lift it by only using a finger and thumb. The picture is taken in one of the two patios the conference centre "Las Beatillas" has.
Team Radar The team members must move from a "safe" location to reach a vision. once one person leaves the "safe" area the complete team is blindfolded until the team arrives at the vision or runs out of time.
Spider's Web Team members must pass from one side of the giant web to the other without touching. A touch is considered poor quality and the person passing must return to the start side and try again but through a different hole as the one used is closed as a signal for "poor quality impedes improvement".
Review Process Here the team, supported by Andy Neal, a facilitator, reviews the learnings and connections to business of one of the activities during the event.
Giant's Ladder Team of three attempt to scale the ladder which has rungs with ever increasing gaps between them.
Acid River Several teams have to acquire resources strewn around an "acid river" to create a product that will satisfy the client. Success can not be achieved unless all of the teams work together to bring all of their resources to the table.
High Y Participants climb up two seperate pole and move along cables to a central point. From there they have to work together to arrive at their destinatio, the furthest pole.
